One of the “greatest experiences of your life” commences with connecting flights taking you from the US across the Atlantic.
Arrive Cairo
Itinerary of the Day
Upon arrival at Cairo airport, you will be greeted by our Associate Representative, who will meet
you before visa and passport formalities. If you have not purchased a tourist entry visa, our
Associate Representative will inform you of the visa fee and go through the formalities to acquire
the visa for you. After passport control, follow his instructions in claiming your luggage and
clearing customs. He will escort you to your transfer, which will take you to your home away from
home in Cairo.
Day 1: Grand Cairo
Full Day Tour: The Grand Egyptian Museum and Giza Pyramids
Sites of the Day:
The morning starts with a gem of Egyptian history at the GRAND EGYPTIAN MUSEUM and the
fabulously relocated KING TUT TOMB EXHIBITION. After lunch on the GIZA plateau, a short drive
will take you to where you will marvel at the grandeur of the PYRAMIDS, including CHEOPS, which
is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Seeing the ageless pyramids along the Nile is like
stepping into a time machine. Coming face-to-face with the SPHINX, who has been staring into the
desert for five thousand years, is wondrous.
Day 2: Majestic Cairo
Full Day Tour: Ancient Sakarra and National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
Sites of the Day:
A morning drive will take you to SAQQARA, about 22 miles south of Cairo. Some of the oldest pyramids and a
complex of pharaonic burial sites are found here. Upon your return to Cairo, a visit to the NATIONAL
MUSEUM OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION will bring you face-to-face with a collection of Pharaohs and Queens of
ancient Egypt in the final resting place of twenty of Egypt’s ROYAL MUMMIES. Visiting the CITADEL and the
MOSQUE will round off the day by giving you insight into Islamic religion and letting you sense the bustle of
nearly 14 million people.
Day 3: Nile Cruise
Day’s Excursions: Philea Temple and the Aswan Damm
Sites of the Day:
Visiting the PHILAE TEMPLE is delightful. Aswan is the area where the pink granite quarries were; granite
pillars from here were found as far away as ancient Caesarea in modern Israel. An afternoon of interest is in
store as you visit the ELEPHANTINE ISLAND and then continue by sailing in a traditional lateen-rigged NILE
FELUCCA, taking you in and around the many surrounding islands. Stopping at the Botanical Gardens is like
taking a walk in God’s garden. Then, have a memorable visit to the ASWAN DAM, situated on the Nile’s first
cataract. Seeing the Agha Khan Mausoleum reminds us how man is still building magnificent buildings to
worship God.
Day 4: Nile Cruise
Day’s Excursions: The Temples of Edfu and Komombo
Sites of the Day:
After passing through the river locks of the Nile at Esna, you head for EDFO, where horse-drawn carriages will take you to the best-preserved temple in Egypt, the Temple of Horus, the falcon-headed god. A clearer comprehension of religious rituals emerges as you gain a better understanding of how temple worship must have been conducted in ancient Egypt. A noon sailing will take you to KOMOMBO. Visiting the unique Greco-Roman temple perched majestically along the Nile, you realize that everything in the famous ‘Double’ temple is built in pairs, dedicated both to the crocodile-headed Sobek, god of Nile fertility, and Haroeris, the sun god.
Day 5: Nile Cruise
Day’s Excursions: The Temples of Karnak and Luxor
Sites of the Day:
A morning flight will take you from Cairo to Luxor. The day’s excursions begin late morning, visiting the
fabulous TEMPLE OF KARNAK, you will be welcomed by the famous AVENUE OF THE SPHINXES. The
massiveness of the ancient complex is amazing as you wander around the pillars and in and out of the
various buildings with their ornate carved detail. Following this magnificent edifice, you will rest on the Nile
Cruise (your home for the days away from Cairo). Towards the evening, leaving the cruise boat, enter the
impressive TEMPLE OF LUXOR. The temple, sacred to Amon, is beautiful with impressive STATUES OF RAMSES
II.
Day 6: Nile Cruise
Day’s Excursions: The Valley of the Kings and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut
Sites of the Day:
The morning in LUXOR begins with crossing the NILE to the West Bank, bringing you to the necropolis of
THEBES, burial place of the great Pharaohs. Visiting the COLOSSI OF MEMNON precedes the highlight of
today’s visit to the fabulous VALLEY OF THE KINGS. While there, discover that so far, more than 65 Pharaonic
tombs have been found, revealing art and religion as it was thousands of years ago, including the FUNERARY
TEMPLE OF QUEEN HATSHEPSUT.
Day 7: Historic Cairo
Morning Half Day Tour: The Egyptian Museum
Sites of the Day:
The morning is dedicated to discovering the treasures of the EGYPTIAN MUSEUM. Let your expert Egyptian guide direct you in surveying Egypt’s colossal collection of material artifacts, Egypt’s contribution to the heritage of mankind. Keeping up with your guide, so you do not get lost in the labyrinth of halls and among the hustle of visitors, will ultimately enhance the museum experience.

Itinerary of the Day
Depart this evening, following the route the ancient Israelites took to enter the
Promised Land from Jordan. Crossing the SINAI via modern flight may be
reminiscent of the forty-year trek the Israelites made . . . although they did not
have the speed or comfort of jet travel.
